M.Sc. (chemistry) from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) (1964).
Career:
Academic secretary (1964-1966) and adviser (1977), Danish Academy of Technical Sciences. Academic secretary, Medical Technology Committee (1966-1970). Head of public relations section at the DTU (1970-1977). Adviser, Geotechnical Institute (1978-1979).
Member of the national executive of the Radikale Venstre (Social Liberal) Party. Member of the Folketing (1973-1977 and 1979-1994). Member of Folketing committees, including the Energy Committee, the Environment Committee, the Labour Market Committee and the Foreign Affairs Committee; chairman of Folketing committees including the Energy Committee and the Technology Committee. Minister for the Environment (1988-1990).
Member of the ELDR Bureau (since 1994).
Member of the Nordic Council (1982-1984) and its International Committee (1987-1988). Member of the Danish delegation to the UN General Assembly (1984, 1987 and 1992), Conference on Women (1980 and 1985) and the Rio Conference (1992). Member of the IT Security Council (1996-1999).
