EU constitution ready end of May

Work on a future European constitution has entered its last stages with the first complete draft set to be made public at the end of this month.

Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, president of the Convention drawing up the work, sent a letter to his delegates yesterday (8 May) saying: "You should thus be receiving a complete draft constitutional Treaty by the end of May. It could be discussed at the plenary meeting on 30 and 31 May."
