August 07, 2003 Constitution deadline presses Swedes
The debate on whether the Swedish parliament should hold an extraordinary session on the EU Constitution is heating up.
The Swedish Centre Party is now backing the Green Party's demand that the Riksdagen -the Swedish Parliament - should have an extra session on the treaty blueprint during the Summer holidays.
The Italian Prime Minister, and current head of the EU presidency, Silvio Berlusconi called for reactions to the draft Constitution Treaty during a meeting of EU foreign ministers early in September - before the Riksdagen resumes its work, which is why the issue has now been raised.
