August 26, 2003 UK to fight for changes in Constitution text The UK will detail the changes it wants to see to the draft Constitution in early September, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The British government will publish a "White Paper" - a policy statement - setting out its "red lines", areas in which it is not prepared to compromise, after the summer break, the paper says.
These "red line" issues include: proposals which move towards tax harmonisation, the mutual defence pact - which the UK government sees as undermining NATO - and the creation of an EU public prosecutor.
