German federal judge attacks Constitution

For the first time, a member of Germany's Constitutional court has criticised the EU's draft Constitution - giving pro-referendum political parties a boost in their drive to force a plebiscite on the issue.

Judge Siegfried Bross - responsible for European law in Karlsruhe - criticised the fact that there was no debate in Member States before the Convention and that there was no mention of God in the draft text.
