Green organisations criticise EU constitution

A group of eight leading environmental groups have criticised the draft EU constitution ahead of the intergovernmental debate on the blueprint due to start in October.

In a position paper entitled Towards a Green EU constitution the *organisations' main objection is that the Union's policies under the new Constitution conflict with the overall goal of sustainable development.
