September 24, 2003 Malta and Cyprus 'overlooked' in Prague meeting Malta and Cyprus, two small countries acceding to the EU next year, were not invited to attend a meeting in Prague on 1 September, ahead of the Intergovernmental Conference (IGC), due to an "oversight".
"They said they forgot to invite us", a spokesperson for the Cyprus Representation to the EU told the EUobserver, although he added that the Czech government reassured them that this mistake was not going to be repeated.
